REVISED NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS ON THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT

OF THE NORTHEAST ALLEN COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION TERRITORY TO INCLUDE THE TOWN OF LEO-CEDARVILLE AND SCIPIO TOWNSHIP


Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of Cedar Creek Township, the Town of Grabill, the Town of Leo-Cedarville, Scipio Township, and Springfield Township, Allen County, Indiana, that a joint public hearing will be held before the Cedar Creek Township Board, the Grabill Town Council, the Leo-Cedarville Town Council, the Scipio Township Board, and the Springfield Township Board on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the hour of 6:00 P.M. at the Leo Cedarville High School, 14600 Amstutz Road, Leo, Indiana, to consider proposed ordinances and resolutions for the amendment of the existing Northeast Allen County Fire Protection Territory to include the Town of Leo-Cedarville and Scipio Township beginning with taxes payable in 2023. Additional joint public hearings of the Cedar Creek Township Board, the Grabill Town Council, the Leo-Cedarville Town Council, the Scipio Township Board, and the Springfield Township Board are planned for Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the hour of 6:00 P.M at the Fudergong Community Building, 13720 First Street, Grabill, Indiana and Monday, March 28, 2022 at the hour of 6:00 P.M. at the Harlan Park Shelter House, 17701 Second Street, Harlan, Indiana. After the third and final public hearing, the Cedar Creek Township Board, the Grabill Town Council, the Leo-Cedarville Town Council, the Scipio Township Board, and the Springfield Township Board will vote to either adopt, reject, or table the ordinances and resolutions for the establishment of the Northeast Allen County Fire Protection Territory with Leo-Cedarville and Scipio Township. If enacted, the proposed ordinances and resolutions will establish the Northeast Allen County Fire Protection Territory between Cedar Creek Township (Provider Unit), the Town of Grabill (Participating Unit), the Town of Leo-Cedarville (Participating Unit), Scipio Township (Participating Unit) and Springfield Township (Participating Unit) and will provide for a uniform tax rate within the territory.
