ORDINANCE 2014 -2
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING TOWN ORDINANCE NO. 2008-01
WHEREAS, the Town of Leo-Cedarville, Indiana (“Town”) adopted Ordinance No. 2008-01 regulating the Procedures for Adopting Proposed Ordinances; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2008-01 has resulted in the unintended consequence of tying the hands of the Town Council, and creating unnecessary delay in the adoption of uncontroversial, and time sensitive ordinances by preventing the council from suspending the rules; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the Town to repeal Ordinance 2008-01 and instead follow the rules for the adoption of town ordinances as set forth in the Indiana Code.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LEO-CEDARVILLE, INDIANA;
Section 1. Leo-Cedarville Town Ordinance 2008-01 is hereby repealed.
Section 2. Indiana Law, including the provisions of Indiana Code 36-4-6, and 36-5-2 (or any amended or successor statutes) shall govern the process of adopting proposed ordinances in the Town.
Section 3. All parts of previous ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the extent of said conflict.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect on the date that it is both signed by the Town Council President and published as required by State law.
