ORDINANCE   2004-04   OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF
LEO-CEDARVILLE, INDIANA

AN ORDINANCE REMOVING CERTAIN STOP SIGNS FROM THE INTERSECTION OF WASHINGTON STREET AND CHERRY STREET IN THE TOWN OF LEO-CEDARVILLE, INDIANA

WHEREAS, there exists in the Town of Leo-Cedarville, an intersection of two roads named Washington Street (extending East and West of the intersection) and Cherry Street (extending North of the intersection perpendicular to Washington Street); and

WHEREAS, there currently exists a three-way stop at this intersection, which stops all traffic traveling East or West on Washington Street and all traffic traveling South on Cherry Street as it connects to Washington Street; and

WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined that the predominant traffic through this intersection is on Washington Street traveling East and West; and

WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined that it is unnecessary to stop the flow of traffic East and West on Washington Street in order to properly accommodate the ingress and egress of traffic to Washington Street from Cherry Street.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Leo-Cedarville, Indiana:

A.           It shall no longer be required for vehicular traffic, traveling East or West on Washington Street in Leo-Cedarville, Indiana to stop at the intersection of Washington Street and Cherry Street.
B. The Town Administrator shall cause the stop signs located on Washington Street at the intersection of Washington Street and Cherry Street within Leo-Cedarville to be removed.
C. The stop sign on Cherry Street which stop the flow of traffic traveling South on Cherry Street shall not be removed, and traffic traveling South on Cherry Street shall be required to stop before entering onto Washington Street.
D. This ordinance shall repeal and replace any prior ordinance that this inconsistent with this Ordinance.
E. This ordinance shall become effective upon its passage and upon its execution by the Town Executive (i.e. Town Council President) as attested by the Clerk-Treasurer.

Passed and adopted by the Town Council of the Town of Leo-Cedarville, Indiana on this   4th   day of   May  , 2004.
